Man shot inside an East Liverpool home
EAST LIVERPOOL - A 47-year-old Michigan man was shot late Thursday night at a Dresden Avenue home after two men wearing masks entered the residence and demanded drugs and money.
The victim, who was not identified, was shot in the hand and also suffered a head injury when he tried to fight off the armed men at 1060 Dresden Ave.
He was taken to the local emergency room then transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital.
Five people present in the home corroborated his account that the two men came in and demanded the drugs and money, with one of the men carrying a Tech 9 and the other a semi-automatic handgun.
The victim was concerned about his girlfriend staying at a local motel, and police went there, where a search turned up suspected heroin, which will also be sent for testing.
The girlfriend, Linda Shaw of Detroit, was charged with drug possession.
