Irene Virginia ‘Sis’ (McAllister) Fletcher

FLETCHER, Irene Virginia "Sis" (McAllister,) 80, of Colliers, WV, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.

Irene was born on Sept. 9, 1932, in Colliers, WV. She was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Tomcsanyi) McAllister.

Irene was a nursing assistant in pediatrics for over 40 years. She was a former member of the Quinn Memorial A.M.E. Church, Steubenville, OH and a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church, Weirton, WV, where her son is pastor. Irene was very active in music ministries and women's club at the churches and she was a member of the Big Red Football Mothers, but most of all she loved her family and Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by husband, Herbert C. Fletcher, who celebrated 51 years of marriage, a grandson, Brandon Manson, two sisters, Ethel and Charlotte McAllister and two brothers, Fred and Edward McAllister.

Irene is survived by three children, Ronald V. Fletcher of Colliers, WV, Pastor Herbert F. (Patricia) Fletcher of Weirton, WV, and Cindi Manson of Columbus, OH, six grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Nicholas, Darci, Jordan, and Jerad, five great-grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters, Helen McAllister of Colliers, WV, James McAllister of Steubenville, OH, Theodore (Phyllis) McAllister, Joseph (Margaret) McAllister, Shirley (Fred) Staten, Charles (Judy) McAllister, all of Wellsburg, WV, David (Sharyn) McAllister of Weirton, WV and Albert (Maryann) McAllister of Follansbee, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, from 10 a.m. until time of Homegoing Service at noon at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (304-527-1717) with her son, Pastor Herbert F. Fletcher and Reverend Rudy McAllister, officiating.

Entombment will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
