EAST SPRINGFIELD - Fire crews were busy Friday evening battling a structure fire on County Road 60 near East Springfield.

Graham named to
state committee
STEUBENVILLE -Jefferson County Commissioner Thomas Graham has been named to the taxation and finance committee of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio.
The committee discusses tax policy, user fees, auditing and accounting, budget procedures, purchasing and investment policy.
Work scheduled at
Bryden Road
STEUBENVILLE - The city's wastewater department will be working on the pumps and electrical system at the Bryden Road lift station starting Tuesday.
Wastewater Collections Foreman James Jenkins said the work will continue through Friday. "The wastewater department will be temporarily using a diesel motor pump to bypass the lift station during the work. It may be noisy at times. And area residents may see minor traffic delays on Bryden Road during the delivery of equipment and truck traffic. We are asking all motorists to use caution in the work area," he said.

ESC reschedules
special meeting
STEUBENVILLE - The Educational Service Center Governing Board has rescheduled a special meeting for 9:30 a.m. Monday at the board offices.
Council committees set meetings
STEUBENVILLE - City Council has scheduled a Service Committee meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the city's street program.
The Finance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the city's 2013 budget.
Road work
announced
The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced minor road work to be performed next week, pending suitable weather.
In Hancock County, crews will be patching Lyons and Kingsdale roads, Princess Drive and Patricia Avenue; and ditching along Patterson and Smith roads.
In Brooke County, crews will be patching U.S. Route 22 and pulling shoulders and ditches along state Route 2.
