WEBB, Rod, devoted husband and father, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, in Asheville, NC.
A man who loved his family, his volunteer work and travel, spent his 70th birthday on Jan. 10, 2013 in Maui.
A native of Longacre, West Virginia, he was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology and the University of Dayton. He spent his professional career mentoring and teaching youth. For much of his career he was a teacher, coach and counselor in the Steubenville/Toronto, Ohio area.
He was a member of the Brevard Rotary Club and Chair/Director of the RYLA Camp and READ training camp for Western North Carolina.
Rod is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Anne Johnson; and daughters, Jill of Charleston, SC and Jennifer of Brevard, NC; brother, Ronnie of Franklin, NC and sister, Emma Thomas of Jupiter, Florida, and also several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Brevard- Davidson River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating.
