‘Seven Last Words’ Good Friday service detailed

The William F. Kirtdoll Foundation will present "The Seven Last Words," a Good Friday service to be held on Friday beginning at 6 p.m. at Agape Apostolic Assembly located at 525 Slack St., Steubenville.

Area clergy will present sermons on the seven final phrases Jesus Christ spoke from the cross. This year marks "The When Series" with sermons entitled "When Love Overpowers Hate," "When God's Got Your Back," When A Mother Outlives Her Son," "When God Is Silent," "When Living Water Thirsts," "When I've Come to the End of My Journey" and "When You're in God's Hands."

Participating clergy are the Rev. Robert Harris, pastor of First Baptist Church, Toronto; the Rev. Ashley Steele, executive director, Urban Mission Ministries; the Rev. Everett Mitchell, pastor of Tower of Power; Elder Mark Gilliam, pastor of Second Chance Ministries Church of God in Christ; the Rev. Vaughn Foster, pastor of Christ's Community Church; the Rev. Charles Simpson, pastor of Quinn Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church; Elder David Thomas of Cleveland; the Rev. Calvin McLoyd Jr., pastor of Second Baptist Church; and the Rev. Lydia E. Spragin, pastor of the shared ministry of Simpson/Phillips Chapel Methodist Church.
