Sands of Time at Country Friends

Country Friends will host the Sands of Time band on Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road, Colliers.

Country Friends has events every Monday, Friday and Saturday at the hall. The doors open at 6 p.m. each Saturday, and the dance starts at 7 p.m.

On Monday and Friday, the doors open at 4 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. Participants can bring a covered dish if they desire for the meal that begins at 5 p.m.

Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music. All proceeds go to charity. For information, call (304) 527-4253 or (304) 479-1270. The website is www.countryfriendsfoundation.com.

Sunrise Seniors plan for dinner show

The Sunrise Seniors of Toronto met March 22 with President Susan Kulstad presiding. Kathy McBride offered grace for the dinner.

Reports were giving by Secretary Mary Lou Deku, Treasurer Mike Timko, and Social Secretary Susan Conaway.

The bus will leave from Cornerstone Church's parking lot on April 17 at 10:45 a.m. for the dinner show in Columbiana. Payment for the trip to see "The Lion King" in September is due to Tim Gribben by the next meeting on April 12.

The 50/50 was won by Connie Tolman and Marlene Garrett. Door prizes were won by Madge DeJulio and Mike Timko. Bingo winners were Paul Pavelka, Wilma Elder, Susan Kulstad, Joyce Gribben, Jay Smith, Marion Wilson, Marge Kane, Mike Timko, Brenda Cottrell, Teresa Kaminski, Peg Nordinger, Betty Ann Parker, Evelyn Woodland, Jo Andrews, Madge DeJulio, Lucy Timko, Joe McBride and Rex Mossor. Skat winners were Judy Sabol, Carolyn McCart, Joyce Gribben, Bruce Pertko, Helen Lindsay, and Harry Andrews.

Man to Man support group to meet

The American Cancer Society's Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. April 11 at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center in Steubenville.

Brooke school retirees to meet

The Brooke County Retired School Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Franklin United Methodist Church.

President Sharon Cuomo will preside over a business meeting. Local legislators will be the guest speakers. Members are asked to wear red, supporting the group's goal to raise $15 per year of service and to bring children's books. New members are welcome. Kiwanis to hold pancake supper

The Wellsburg Kiwanis Club will hold its annual pancake supper from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellsburg Moose Lodge.

The cost is $7 for ages 9 and up, with children 8 and under admitted free. Proceeds will go to various community projects supported by the club.
