Gilbert E. Littleton

LITTLETON, Gilbert E., 81 of Weirton, WV, passed away Monday April 8, 2013, at Acuity Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born October 20, 1931, in Parkersburg, WV., son of the late Mac and Lucille Nutter Littleton.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Smith; brothers, Lynn, Ralph, and Allen Littleton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, Korean War and a member of the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel Company. He retired from National Steel/ Weirton Division with over 33 years of employment in the 54" roll shop as a sandblaster. Gil also served as a steward with the ISU. He was known for his great sense of humor, everyone loved him. He was a great husband, father, and Pap.

Surviving are his wife of over 61 years, Joan Diamond Littleton; daughters, Debbie Moore (Dale) of Weirton, WV, Terry Brown of Follansbee, WV; sons, Rick Littleton (Mary), Bob Littleton (Barb), Duane Littleton(Kay) all of Weirton, WV, Charlie Littleton (Stacia) of North Lima, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Dell Murray, Juanita Rea, both of Toronto, Ohio; brother, Bill Littleton of South Carolina.

Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Thursday April 11, 2013 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday April 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Captain Ed Long presiding. Military funeral honors will be provided by American Legion Post No.10 honor guard and the WV Honor Guard.
