Tuesday brought perfect weather for a VIP reception held at the Garrett House at 741 N. Fourth St., one of the Bayberry Properties Bed and Breakfasts in Steubenville's Historic District.

Guests on hand had a chance to meet retired CIA agent and "Argo" author Antonio Mendez, and his wife, Jonna, also a retired CIA agent, before their presentation later that evening at the Steubenville High School auditorium.

Guests were able to mingle inside and out thanks to Mother Nature's cooperation; to have a photo op and book signing with the Mendez couple; and to enjoy refreshments.

Many also had a copy of the Academy Award-winning movie "Argo" for signing as well.

The couple were in town as part of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Herald-Star Lecture Series.

How fortunate we are in this area to have programs of this caliber.
