Area Lions club

holding breakfast

The Warren Township Lions Club is holding an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church on Grandview Avenue.

The cost is $5 per person. The fundraiser also will include a bake sale and a Chinese auction.

Wells Township

Seniors to meet

The Wells Township Senior Citizens meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wells Township Community Center located on Steuben Street in Brilliant.

The lunch menu is soup and sandwiches. Participants can bring a dessert if they so choose.

Police Chief John Ingram and Frank Hoagland will give a presentation on a safety program they are involved in with teachers.

Wells Township seniors are welcome to become members. An annual membership is $5 payable at any time. The gatherings include lunch, fellowship, door prizes and a 50-50 drawing. Questions can be directed to Liz Cook, Wells Township recreation director, at (740) 598-3967 or (740) 632-6253.

School retirees

hold meeting

Steubenville City School retirees held their monthly luncheon meeting on April 11 at the White Bear Inn in East Springfield, celebrating early the 99th birthday of fellow member Mary Coleman.

The next luncheon will be held May 9 at Naples Spaghetti House. The June charity will be the GED Scholarship Fund.

Moving On

Moving On met April 14 at Undo's in Weirton with Norma Boni, president, presiding.

Guests attending were Carol Boyd, Darlene Roe, Holly Miller and Jim Barrett.

Fred Vogt offered the blessing. Birthdays were acknowledged.

Entertainment was provided by Jack Giacomel of Burgettstown, who performed a medley of songs on the keyboard.

Tables were decorated with spring centerpieces in a popcorn box with candy, flowers and a balloon.

Reports were given by Lucretia Ross, secretary, and Margaret Chapman, treasurer.

Madeline Michael Boulson and Ross conducted the 50-50 drawing won by Vogt. Undo's gift certificates were won by Janet Saner and Ingrid Koenig. Table prize winners were Vogt, Cindy Gilbert, Becky Michalka, Ann Zmuda and Richard Kimmel.

The next meeting will be held May 5 at Undo's in Weirton. Anyone interested in joining can call Saner at (740) 537-4487. Dues are $10 annually, and dinners are $12.

Dinner theater

to benefit Relay

The Ohio Valley Cloak and Dagger Co. will present an interactive murder mystery at a dinner show to benefit the American Cancer Society May 4 at Staffileno's on the River.
