Harrison relay place changed

CADIZ The location for the Harrison County Relay for Life, planned to begin at 6 p.m. on June 7, has been changed to Sally Buffalo Park and Wallace Lodge.

The former location was James Scott Field in Scio.

The committee, including Co-Chairmen Anisa Rocchi and Mindy Madzia, are gathering names of county cancer survivors and/or their caregivers for a special catered meal, a purple survivor T-shirt and a gift bag.

Jackie Rocchi is the 2013 honorary survivor.

The registration of survivors will being at 4 p.m. on June 7, organizers said.

The opening ceremonies will include the survivors' lap and the introduction of teams onto the track. A dinner for survivors will be provided by the Harrison County Farm Bureau.

Other events include a basketball shootout at 7 p.m.; a lip sync competition, 8 p.m.; luminaria ceremony, 10 p.m.; pizza party for teams, midnight; Lions Club breakfast in the lodge, 7 a.m.; and closing ceremonies, 8 a.m.

Also, there will be several events throughout the night, including a high heel lap, Scrabble lap, limbo lap, crazy hat lap, backwards lap, pajama lap and a dance lap.
