Blackmoor Ladies Monday Evening League played a "Throw out Your Worst Holes" event on Sept. 23. The winner was Lucy Karran.

Long drive honors went to Lori Defallo on hole No. 11. Yuko Atwell had a long drive also on hole No. 14.

CADIZ WINNERS — The Cadiz Ladies Golf Association’s “End of the Season” golf outing was held Sept. 25 with an awards dinner where winners recognized were, first row, from left, Billie Stanwick, Theresa Stotler and Nep Rowland; and second row, Donna Griffin, Marcia Bedway, Cathy Smith and Joann Watson.

On Sept. 30, the league played a low gross event won by Lucy Karran. Long drive on hole No. 2 went to Cheryl Black, and Neysa McCart took closest to the pin on the second shot on hole No. 8. Low putts went to Signa Fenton and Linda Caputo.

Monday evening play will continue at 4:30 p.m. with all women golfers welcome.

Mountaineer Woodview Women's 18-Hole Association held its end-of-the-year banquet, honoring winners. Play will resume in May, and anyone interested in joining should contact any of the pictured members.

On the final play day of the season the Williams Ladies Golf Association held a "Poker Scramble," and the first- place winners were Maribeth Arlia and Linda Staffilino, and second-place went to Priscilla Mavrich and Toni Vosseler. The third-place team was Jennie Epifano, Vi Stein and Kay Mascio.

Skill prizes for the day was long drive in the fairway on hole No. 13 with first flight going to Arlia; Rita Kohn took the second flight; and Vosseler took the third flight drive.

"Pot of Gold" was shared by Arlia, Staffilino and Alicia Myers, all with chip-ins.

Following play, a luncheon was served in the presidents dining room with guests for the day, Williams Pro Dean DiBerardino and Assistant Pro Jason Smoljanovich, announcing and handing out the weekly prizes and the end-of-year awards.

Awards prize chairman was Arlia choosing gift certificates from the Pro Shop, allowing the winners to choose their individual prize or prizes.

First Award presented was for "Super Senior Champion Net" and went to Vi Stein, "Super Senior Champion" was Sue Sakara.

"Senior Champion Net" was Priscilla Mavrich, and "Senior Champion" was taken by Jennie Epifano.

The West Virginia Pin is presented at the end of season each year after a two-week tournament and must be to a resident of West Virginia. The winner was Sue Sakara.

Third flight net score went to Stein, and third flight gross score winner was Erikka Buracchio. Second flight net score was Rita Kohn and second flight gross score went to Sakara. First flight net score was taken by Epifano.

Runner-up club champion was taken by Arlia and club champion went to Mavrich.

Ringers and Birdie Chairman Stein also gave Pro Shop gift certificates for winners to choose their own gifts. Flight three birdie winner was Buracchio; second flight winner was Linda Staffilino; and first flight winner, Arlia.

Ringer winners for first flight gross was Arlia. First flight net winner went to Epifano. Second flight gross was Sakara, and second flight net was Kohn. Third flight gross was Buracchio, and third flight net winner was Stein.

The "Most Improved Lady Golfer" who lowered her handicap by the most points went to Stein.

Chairman for the closing luncheon was Mascio, assisted by Sakara with a fall theme for table decorations. A jarred candy dish with a Williams logo was given to each person attending along with various colored live mum plants in a jack-o-lantern pot.

The new officers for the coming season will be: Staffilino, president; secretary, Phillips; treasurer, Wickham; hospitality, Mascio; games committee, Epifano, Vosseler and Burrachio; awards, Arlia; Rally for a Cure, Mavrich and Phillips; invitational, Staffilino, Chambers and Maureen Dumbaugh; publicity Myers; ringers and birdies, Stein; and nominations, Sakara, Mavrich and Mascio.

For the month of October the women will be playing on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. without formal play.
