County engineer sets road work

WINTERSVILLE - Jefferson County Engineer Jim Brannigan announced County Road 50A, also known as Main Street, between the Saline Township Complex and the salvage yard will be closed from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday for culvert replacement.

No through traffic will be allowed during the work.

SRG to meet on Monday

STEUBENVILLE - The Steubenville Revitalization Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Froehlich's Classic Corner.

The organization will discuss plans for 2014.

Road work announced for Brooke, Hancock

The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced bridge and road work to be performed next week, pending suitable weather.

The left east- and westbound lanes of U.S. Route 22 below the Colliers Way Bridge remain closed while crews excavate for the new abutments.

Crews in Brooke County also will be patching Colliers Way and Tent Church Road and mowing along several areas of state Route 2.

Crews in Hancock County will be patching Ferndale and Shepherd's Valley roads, ditching along Standish Hill Road and mowing along many roads.

Planned power outage postponed

WELLSBURG - A planned power outage that had been set for Saturday afternoon and evening has been postponed until a later date, according to officials with MonPower.

The outage was set to occur so crews could make repairs to a substation north of Wellsburg.

It would have affected about 1,000 Wellsburg area customers north of 10th Street.

School board to meet at school

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Board of Education will hold its next regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the recently renovated library at Brooke High School.

The board normally meets at its office on Pleasant Avenue.
