Organizers of the Purple Palooza event are preparing for their fourth-annual fundraising effort for the Tony Teramana Cancer Center's Cancer Screening Fund with Purple Palooza set to be held on Nov. 16 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.
According to Catherine Moore, event chairperson, "My father would have been so proud. We started this event in 2010 in memoriam to him." Catherine's father, Ken Moore, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2009 and passed away before the first Purple Palooza. Ken was very active in the community and supported many local charities. The money raised at the event provides funds for free cancer screenings by Trinity Health System.
Tickets for the event are $35 each and can be purchased by calling (740) 264-8700. Activities at the event include silent auctions, dancing and appetizers.
Catherine and Ken Moore pose just shortly after Ken’s diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
