WINTERSVILLE - Village residents have the chance to spread their holiday cheer during the annual holiday light-up contest.
According to Mayor Bob Gale, seven winners will be chosen during the contest. The contest was announced during Thursday's council meeting.
"Residents are encouraged to keep their lights on both Dec. 14 and 15, as council members and I will be traveling around the village," he stated. "Each council member will choose a winner and there will also be a mayor's choice prize. Plaques will be presented to each winner."
Council then approved a resolution to submit an Appalachian Regional Commission grant to the Ohio Mid-Eastern Government Association.
"This resolution gives our village administrator, Walt Ziemba, the ability to apply for grants for the Luray Drive rehabilitation project," Gale noted.
Council also approved a first reading for the 2014 budget.
A second and third reading will be considered at the next council meeting.
