Wednesday evening fire destroys house

STEUBENVILLE - A fire at 622 Pine St. early Wednesday evening resulted in the house being destroyed, according to city fire reports.

Firefighters received a call at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday of the house fire.

Crews from Steubenville and Mingo Junction responded. The house was occupied, according to reports, but no injuries to firefighters or occupants were reported, officials said.

Indian Creek curriculum team to meet

WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek Local Curriculum Improvement Council/District Leadership Team meeting for the month will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the gymnasium at the Bantam Ridge board offices.

The meeting is open to the public.

Transit authority sets special meeting

STEUBENVILLE - The Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will meet in special session at 4 p.m. today in the Robert J. Cutri Modal Center downtown.

An executive session has been scheduled, according to officials.

The group's regular meeting for the month is planned at 4 p.m. Dec. 19 at Scaffidi's Pasta restaurant.

Adams Street will be closed Friday

STEUBENVILLE - The city water department will be cementing street openings on Adams Street Friday.

Water Department official Michael Wigal said Adams Street from West Adams Street to South Eighth Street will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
